Pay Increase Salary Schedules

The following are salary schedules for the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Bargaining Units. These schedules show each classification’s salary grade and base compensation for the indicated pay period. To read these schedules and calculate what your pay level is or will be you should identify your classification (job title and five digit job code) on the schedule, matching the pay grade that is printed on your pay stub to the pay grade for your classification listed in the salary schedule (for verification).

Salary schedules will be posted based on the pay period that any salary changes occur within our bargaining units.

The following designators on your pay stub next to your job title are explained below:

A - Intermediate P.O.S.T. Certificate
B - Advanced P.O.S.T. Certificate
S - Senior Enhancement

In 2019, at the County’s request, the salary schedule was changed from a series of salary steps to a salary range.  Since then, only the minimum and maximum salaries are listed for each classification. This has caused some confusion with our members, who grew accustomed to finding their specific rate of pay listed on the salary schedule.

Per the LEU and CDBU contracts, the OS classification expired on July 12, 2023, following an increase to the top of the Non-OS scale, which matched the top of the OS scale [1].  The salary schedule posted here is a representation of the salary schedule used by the County. We have tried to ensure that our information matches what is posted on the County’s website; however, ours has a different look because we deleted some columns that we felt may be confusing or not as relevant. Traditionally, we have also included the maximum rate for each contract year, while the County posts only the current year [2].

[1] Please note that there was still a small gap in pay between the two classifications after the 2023 increase; however, the maximum for each range defaulted to the top of whichever scale (OS or Non-OS) was higher.

[2] The current contract expires in December, 2024 for LEU and CDBU; however, since there are no more changes to the pay scale for the remainder of the contract, RSA’s updated scale will only reflect a single year. PSU’s contract provides for two more increases to the top of the salary scale, the first in December, 2023 and the second in December, 2024.

WARNING! The links below will direct you to salary schedules that have been produced by the RSA. These schedules are for information purposes only and should not be construed to be an exact representation of each classification's salary grade. While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the schedules, they have been created with limited information provided by the County's Human Resources Department. It is possible that your pay stub may reflect amounts that are different from those listed. If you encounter a difference between your pay stub and the amounts listed in the following schedules, please contact the RSA office to report the discrepancy. Members may also view the County’s salary schedules through the Human Resources’ Classification and Compensation website.

If you have any difficulty deciphering the salary schedule, give the RSA office a call and let us know. We will be happy to answer any of your questions.
