In 1980, a bank in Norco, California, was robbed, setting off one of the most violent police pursuits in American history. The lessons learned from the robbery changed the face of law enforcement; the Norco bank robbery is still studied in academies.

In 2000, the Riverside Sheriffs’ Association brought together the law enforcement survivors of the event to recognize them for their bravery. For many of them, it was the first time since 1980 they had talked openly about the day.

There are very few resources on the internet to learn about the Norco bank robbery. This website is hosted by the Riverside Sheriffs’ Association with details gathered for the 2000 memorial. This is perhaps the most comprehensive account of the robbery available on the internet.
