On March 13th 2002, the Board of Trustees adopted modifications to the RSA Benefit Trust Agreement, resulting in significant changes in the organizational structure of the RSA - Benefit Trust. These changes were necessary in order to keep up with the growth of the Trust Operation and increasing importance of Trust Mission to the RSA membership.
The new structure of the Trust requires that all RSA Directors serve concurrently as both members of the RSA Board of Directors as well as Trustees for the RSA Benefit Trust. This new structure is expected to provide better oversight of this very important operation, as well as enhanced responsiveness to Trust participants.
This new structure requires a "heavier" workload for all members of the RSA Board of Directors, including myself, who will assume the duties of Trust Board Chairman. Although nobody relishes the idea of added work, we are all determined to do whatever is necessary to enhance the benefits of both active and retired RSA members.
On behalf of the entire Board, I'd like to express our gratitude to Tony Pradia, Scott Morgan, Jon Mosley, Phil Hahn, and Didi Birdsall, for their dedication and the hard work that they put into the Trust these past several years. Their sacrifices have not gone unnoticed!
